CURRENT PRAYER:

PRAYER FOR OUR NATION (2013)

Heavenly Father, Lord of Nations, we thank you

for the great blessing of our Judeo-Christian roots

which constitutes the permanent moral basis

of our foundation as a Republic.

We pray for the guidance of your Spirit,

for all who govern us,

that they will respect religious liberty

and the free exercise of conscience

in matters of faith and morals.

May all civil authority, national and local,

serve to promote our God-given rights and Christian values.

May the Gospel shed its light on the formation of our conscience

and protect us against whatever is contrary

to the dignity of the human person and the natural law.

Heavenly Father, through the intercession of Mary Immaculate,

Patroness of our nation, may we lead quiet, peaceful lives.

Bless our efforts to build up society

in a spirit of truth and freedom, compassion and justice,

and thus bring about your Kingdom here on earth.
