BULLETIN NEWS
ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL - GOAL $90,794.00
To date, 21% of parishioners have contributed to the Annual Catholic Appeal.. This is our “Annual Catholic Opportunity” for building up God’s kingdom through the two dozen ministries of our Local Church. To arrive at our parish Goal, I am asking each family to make a pledge of $75.00. I suggest that you spread your payments over a three-month period if that would be to your convenience. There are those with the financial ability to contribute larger donations. All Holy Name families are requested to contribute their fair share in order to reach this assigned Goal.
Our goal this year is to achieve participation from every parishioner Your participation is vital to the success of the ACA not only for these ministries, but for our own parish as well. Please make a gift that reflects your gratitude for God’s incredible blessings. Join me in returning your completed pledge card by placing it in the collection basket within the next week. If you are unable to make a financial gift, please return your pledge card indicating that; we will see that you do not receive a second request.

ATTENTION ALTAR SERVERS
The New Server Schedule was mailed this past week. If you have not received your schedule please contact the rectory at 472-7244.

HAITI DONATION FROM YAC
The Youth Activities Committee raised $750.25 by sponsoring the Father/Daughter Dance. The decision agreed upon by the Dance Committee was that the proceeds would be donated to Kindred Journey in support of the dire conditions existing among our Haitian friends.

PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
Today we support the Holy Father in his charitable works. The Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up worldwide in an effort of solidarity to support the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disaster and others in need of emergency assistance. Pope Benedict XVI has said, “God’s love...gives us the courage to continue seeking and working for the benefit of all” (Caritas in Veritate, no. 78). Cast the love of Christ upon the world - please be generous in today’s collection.

ADULT SCRIPTURE CLASSES
“A Walk through the Bible”with Sr. Margie. Continues weekly with stories of Cain and Abel, Noah’s Ark and the Tower of Babel. Tuesday 7:00-8:30PM, Church Hall, June 29 and July 6.

THE LITURGY CORNER
The words of the Mass frequently reflect passages in the Bible. The new translation of the Roman Missal will include a change in wording of the prayer prayed before receiving Holy Communion. Taken from Luke 7:6 where a centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant, we will pray “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”

NATIVE SON ORDAINED A DEACON
Mark Westrick, son of Anna Marie (Sis) and the late Bernard Westrick, will be ordained to the Permanent Deaconate in Raleigh, NC this Saturday, June 26. Msgr. Gaus has the distinct honor of vesting Deacon Mark in the dalmatic during the Ordination Rite. Traveling with Msgr. Gaus are Mark’s mother and his cousin, Brian Bracken. Holy Name Parish will have an opportunity to congratulate Deacon Mark over the weekend of July 4th when he has been invited to serve as deacon and preach at our Sunday Liturgies. Let us continue to pray for more vocations to the deaconate and to the priesthood.

STEWARDSHIP OF TALENT - WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Ask not what the Church can do for you; ask what you can do for your instrument of God in shaping and inspiring other members of your church? Do you have special skills that you could use for your church - carpenter, plumber, auto mechanic? Whatever your talent is, share it.
