BULLETIN NEWS
WHAT FATHERS ARE
There are some wonderful words in our language, words that are separably associated; home, mother, father, family- and in our thoughts they are linked in fondest and most meaningful remembrance.
Where the normal pattern prevails, father is more away and less closely acquainted with the daily problems and programs in the home. But fathers are people in whose footsteps sons are apt to follow, and with whose hearts daughters are likely to have their way.
Fathers are people by whose name the family is known. Fathers are people whom sons and daughters should feel free to approach with their problems.
We thank God for the fathers who are identified with the Holy Name Family. May they always recognize the preciousness of their children. May dads be as loving and kind to their children as the heavenly Father is to them. St. Joseph, patron saint of fathers, pray for all fathers. Happy Father’s Day to all dads!!!

A FATHER’S DAY BLESSING
God our Father, you give life on earth and in heaven. Lead all fathers to walk by the light of faith. So may they help their children attain the good things which Christ has promised.. Heavenly Father, in wisdom and love bless all fathers. Let their example of charity and good works reveal the firm foundation of faith they carry in their hearts. May their family honor them with a spirit of profound gratitude and respect. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PARISHES ASSIGNED FOR HAITI MISSION APPEALS
Msgr. Gaus has received from the Propagation of Faith Office a list of five parishes where he will speak in behalf of the missionary needs in Pandiassou, Haiti, and working in conjunction with Brother Francklin Armand (Little Brothers of the Incarnation) and Little Sister Caroline (Little Sisters of Jesus). The five parishes and scheduled weekend speaking engagements are the following:

June 19-20 Queen of Archangel Parish, Clarence PA August 7-8 St. Aloysius Parish, Cresson
July 24-25 Holy Rosary Parish, Altoona August 21-22 Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Central City
July 31-Aug 1 St. Demetrius Parish, Gallitzin

FESTIVAL INVOICES NEEDED IMMEDIATELY
Any chairperson in possession of festival invoices is asked to drop them off at the rectory no later than Wednesday, June 23rd.

PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
Next week our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and disasters. Through your generosity, with Pope Benedict we can cast the love of Christ upon the world.

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL - GOAL $90,794.00
To date, 19% of parishioners have contributed to the Annual Catholic Appeal.. This is our “Annual Catholic Opportunity” for building up God’s kingdom through the two dozen ministries of our Local Church. To arrive at our parish Goal, I am asking each family to make a pledge of $75.00. I suggest that you spread your payments over a three-month period if that would be to your convenience. There are those with the financial ability to contribute larger donations. All Holy Name families are requested to contribute their fair share in order to reach this assigned Goal.
Our goal this year is to achieve participation from every parishioner Your participation is vital to the success of the ACA not only for these ministries, but for our own parish as well. Please make a gift that reflects your gratitude for God’s incredible blessings. Join me in returning your completed pledge card by placing it in the collection basket within the next week. If you are unable to make a financial gift, please return your pledge card indicating that; we will see that you do not receive a second request.

STEWARDSHIP OF TALENT
God has given you a gift, a charism. A charism isn’t something you earn. It’s a gift entrusted to you for the sake of the whole community, including your church. The only question is whether you will put it at the service of the community or not. Pray that you will grow in your understanding of stewardship of your talents and abilities.

ADULT SCRIPTURE CLASSES CONTINUE
“A Walk through the Bible”with Sr. Margie. Each week continues with the stories of Cain and Able, Noah’s Ark and the Tower of Babel. Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30PM, Church Hall, June 22, 29, and July 6. Bring a Bible, and bring a friend!

RCIA CATHOLIC INQUIRY: Tuesday, June 22
Anyone interested in becoming Catholic should attend this general inquiry session, 7PM Tuesday, June 22 in the Church Library. This is an informal opportunity to ask questions, get basic information about what Catholics believe, and learn about the process of becoming a Catholic. For more information, call Sr. Margie - 472-8315.

BAPTISMS OF INFANTS
Parents expecting their first child must contact Sr. Margie (472-8315) preferably before the birth of the child to arrange for a sacramental preparation session. Catholic godparents must be registered in a parish, confirmed, and active and practicing in their faith.

THANK YOU from Sr. Margie
To all who donated to our flea market and to the prize booth, a big THANK YOU! till next year!
