For the past three years our junior high school candidates have been preparing
for the sacrament of Confirmation. Our parish faith community has supported and
prayed with them for the coming of the Spirit in a fuller way into their lives
and thus into the life of the parish and diocese. Finally, the time had arrived for us to
celebrate together this great event for our Church.
The 2010 Confirmation Liturgy was held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 16. As in
the past years we were the host parish for the following churches: St. John Vianney, Mundy’s Corner; St. Mary, Nanty Glo; Sts. Timothy and Mark, Twin Rocks
and Holy Family, Colver. This sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated and
conferred upon the candidates by our Bishop Joseph V. Adamec.
Concelebrants were Msgr. Gaus, Rev. Martin Cingle, Rev. James Conrad, Rev.
Bernard Grega and Rev. Andrew Stanko, assisted by Deacons James Janosik and
Bernard Zernick. Masters of Ceremony were Deacon Robert Bailey and Rev.
Mark Reid.
